1. How the marketplace works

1. A host publishes a listing and sets its price, availability, booking settings and cancellation terms.
2. A guest submits a booking request. Unless instant booking is enabled, the host confirms or declines it.
3. After confirmation, the guest pays the displayed booking total in the listing currency.
4. Stripe processes the marketplace payment. RentScanner may retain a disclosed platform application fee, while the host amount is allocated to the host's Stripe connected account.
5. The host amount remains a host pending payout and is normally scheduled for payout after check-in, subject to Stripe availability, identity checks, reserves, disputes, refunds and applicable law.

2. Stripe Connect payment structure

RentScanner intends to use Stripe Connect Express, destination charges and application fees. UK listings are ordinarily priced and paid in GBP; eligible European listings are ordinarily priced and paid in EUR. The listing currency is shown before the guest confirms payment.

Payment processing and host onboarding are provided by Stripe and may require identity, bank-account and business verification. Money allocated to a host may be held in the host's Stripe Connect balance until the applicable payout date.

3. Delayed payouts, not escrow

RentScanner does not provide an escrow service, bank account or deposit-taking service. References to a delayed payout or host pending payout describe the timing of marketplace payment processing through Stripe Connect. They do not mean that RentScanner holds money as an escrow agent or trustee.

4. How RentScanner earns revenue

RentScanner may charge a platform fee to the host, guest or both. The applicable fees and booking total must be disclosed before payment. Stripe or a connected financial institution may separately charge processing, payout, foreign-exchange or dispute fees.

5. Responsibilities

Hosts are independent providers. They are responsible for their listings, licences, insurance, taxes, safety, legal compliance and delivery of the booked service. Guests are responsible for accurate booking information, lawful use and compliance with listing rules. RentScanner operates the marketplace and does not own or manage listed assets unless a listing expressly states otherwise.

6. Refunds, disputes and adjustments

Refunds and cancellations are handled under the Refund / Cancellation Policy. A refund, chargeback, dispute, damage claim or correction may reduce or reverse a host pending payout or create a negative connected-account balance.
