Each host must disclose the cancellation terms that apply to a listing. Guests should review them before paying. Mandatory statutory rights override conflicting listing terms.
A guest may cancel while a request is waiting for host confirmation. A host may decline it. Where no payment was captured, no refund is due.
The refund depends on the listing policy, the time remaining before check-in, non-refundable components already disclosed and the reason for cancellation. A no-show or voluntary early departure is normally treated as a guest cancellation at the relevant time.
Hosts should cancel only where necessary and must notify the guest promptly. If the host cancels, fails to provide access or cannot provide a materially equivalent service, RentScanner may cancel the booking, refund the guest and apply account restrictions or recover associated costs from the host.
A guest should report a serious safety issue, unavailable asset, inaccessible booking or material mismatch promptly, normally within 24 hours of discovery, and provide photographs, messages or other evidence. RentScanner may help the parties resolve the issue, arrange a full or partial refund, or reject an unsupported claim.
For severe travel restrictions, natural disasters, official closures or similar exceptional events, RentScanner may apply a special outcome where required by law or reasonably justified. Ordinary weather, changed plans or avoidable travel disruption do not automatically qualify.
Date, guest, vehicle, property or boat changes require agreement by both parties and may change the price and cancellation deadline. A requested change is not effective until confirmed on the platform.
Use the cancellation action in your booking account where available. If it is unavailable, contact info@rentscanner.com with the booking reference. The recorded platform cancellation time is used to assess the applicable terms.
RentScanner is operated by RENT SCANNER LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales.
Company information is based on the public Companies House register.
RentScanner uses marketplace payment processing for bookings. A guest pays RentScanner at checkout, and the host amount is held as host pending payout until it becomes eligible for delayed payout after the rental end date. This is not escrow.
RentScanner service commission is 12% of the gross booking amount unless another rate is clearly shown before checkout or agreed in writing. The commission is deducted before calculating the host pending payout. Stripe processing fees, refunds, chargebacks, disputes, taxes and currency conversion may affect the final settlement.
Top advert promotion is a rotational advertising placement. RentScanner displays a maximum of 4 promoted adverts at a time in matching category, city and search result placements. Promoted adverts rotate on page refresh, and promotion does not guarantee a fixed position, continuous display, clicks, enquiries or bookings.
If a booking is cancelled, refunded, disputed or placed on hold, RentScanner may delay, reduce, reverse or block the host payout according to the applicable cancellation, refund, host and guest terms.
Send a message and the host will get back to you shortly.
