Copyright Policy

1. User responsibility

Hosts and other users are responsible for all content they upload. By uploading an image, you confirm that you own the copyright or have a valid licence, consent or other legal authority to use and publish it on RentScanner. You must be able to provide evidence of those rights on request.

2. Licence to RentScanner

You retain ownership of your content. You grant RentScanner a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, optimise, translate, display and distribute the content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure and promote the marketplace and its listings.

3. Prohibited content

Do not upload photographs copied from Google Images, another listing, a social network, stock library or third-party website unless the applicable licence expressly permits your intended use. Content must not infringe copyright, trademarks, privacy, publicity or other third-party rights.

4. Reporting copyright infringement

A copyright owner or authorised representative can use the Report an image link beneath a listing gallery or email info@rentscanner.com. A complete notice should include:

• your name, email address and authority to act;
• identification of the copyrighted work;
• the exact RentScanner listing and image being reported;
• the original source URL or other supporting evidence where available;
• a good-faith statement explaining why the use is unauthorised;
• confirmation that the information is accurate.

5. Notice and action

RentScanner reviews sufficiently detailed notices promptly. We may temporarily restrict access, request additional evidence, remove an image, notify the uploader, preserve relevant records and take other proportionate action. An incomplete or abusive notice may be rejected. Removal does not determine ownership or liability between the parties.

6. Uploader response

An uploader who believes content was removed by mistake may contact info@rentscanner.com with proof of ownership, licence or permission. RentScanner may restore content only where it is reasonably satisfied that restoration is lawful.

7. Repeat infringement

RentScanner may return listings to moderation, suspend publishing privileges or terminate accounts of repeat or serious infringers. Three upheld complaints may trigger review of all active listings associated with the relevant account.

8. Records and privacy

We may retain notices, evidence, upload timestamps, user identifiers and IP logs as reasonably necessary to investigate complaints, prevent abuse, establish legal claims and comply with law. Personal data is handled under the Privacy Policy.

9. No legal determination

RentScanner is a marketplace platform and cannot adjudicate complex ownership disputes. The parties remain responsible for obtaining legal advice and using appropriate courts or dispute procedures where necessary.
