RentScanner operates an online marketplace through which independent hosts can list property, cars and boats and guests can search, communicate and make bookings. RentScanner facilitates marketplace payment processing but is not the owner, operator or provider of the listed rental unless expressly stated.

RentScanner is operated by RENT SCANNER LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales.
We use personal data to provide accounts, listings, search, maps, messaging and bookings; facilitate payments and delayed host payouts; verify users; prevent fraud; provide support; administer cancellations, refunds, disputes and chargebacks; send transactional notifications; moderate content; comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations; and improve the security and performance of RentScanner.
Depending on the activity, we rely on performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the marketplace, compliance with legal obligations, and consent for optional cookies or marketing. You may withdraw consent at any time where consent is the lawful basis.
Payment services may be provided through Stripe Connect. Hosts may be required to create a Stripe Express connected account and complete Stripe identity, business and bank-account verification. Stripe processes payment credentials and may independently determine what information it needs for compliance, fraud prevention and financial services.
RentScanner may receive limited payment and payout information from Stripe to administer bookings, platform application fees, refunds, disputes and host pending payouts. Payments are marketplace payment processing and delayed payouts; they are not described or operated as escrow.

Some service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where required, transfers are protected by an adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism.
Essential cookies support login, security, language and consent preferences. Optional analytics cookies are used only where permitted. You can manage cookies through the cookie banner and browser settings, although blocking essential cookies can prevent parts of the service from working.
Account and active booking data is kept while the account or booking is active. Financial, payment, refund, dispute and fraud-prevention records may be retained for the period required by tax, accounting, anti-fraud and legal obligations. Chat and support records are retained only as reasonably necessary for safety, disputes and service administration. Search alerts are deleted when you unsubscribe or when their retention period expires.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection to processing. You may withdraw consent and complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local supervisory authority. Requests can be sent to info@rentscanner.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
RentScanner may use automated tools to assist with fraud signals, moderation, search ranking and translation. Automatically translated listing content is identified where applicable. We do not rely solely on automated processing to make a decision that produces a legal or similarly significant effect unless permitted by law and appropriate safeguards are provided.
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls, encrypted connections, payment-tokenisation through payment providers and activity logging. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Users must protect their passwords and report suspected account misuse promptly.
RentScanner is intended for adults. Users must be at least 18 years old to create listings, make bookings or use payment services.
