Guest Terms

These Guest Terms supplement the Terms of Service. Requesting or paying for a booking means you agree to both.

1. Accurate booking information

Provide your true identity, contact information, guest count and any required driving, boating or eligibility details. You are responsible for people you invite or include in the booking.

2. Booking and confirmation

Review the listing, dates, location, capacity, rules, cancellation terms, price and currency before booking. For host-confirmed listings, your request remains pending until accepted. A booking is not fully secured until all required payment and confirmation steps are complete.

3. Payment

You authorise Stripe to charge the displayed total and RentScanner to facilitate marketplace payment processing, including any disclosed platform fee. UK listings are normally payable in GBP and eligible European listings in EUR. Your provider may charge separate currency-conversion or bank fees.

4. Proper use

Use the listing lawfully, safely and only for the agreed purpose and period. Follow occupancy, smoking, pet, parking, marina, mileage, licence, navigation and other disclosed rules. Do not sublet, transfer or commercially exploit a booking without written permission.

5. Property, vehicle and boat requirements

Property guests must respect neighbours and access rules. Drivers must hold a valid licence and meet insurance and age requirements. Boat guests or operators must meet disclosed competency, safety and local navigation requirements. The host may refuse unlawful or unsafe use without creating an automatic refund right.

6. Cancellations and booking problems

The Cancellation Policy and Refund Policy apply. Report a material problem promptly through the booking or chat tools and allow a reasonable opportunity to address it where safe.

7. Damage, extra costs and claims

You may be responsible for damage, loss, excess cleaning, fines, tolls, fuel, late return or rule breaches caused by you or your party, to the extent supported by evidence and permitted by law. You must cooperate with a reasonable claim review.

8. Communications and conduct

Communicate respectfully and keep material booking arrangements on the platform. Harassment, discrimination, fraud, payment circumvention, unsafe conduct and review manipulation are prohibited.

9. Reviews

You may leave a review after an eligible completed booking. Reviews must be genuine, relevant and not contain unlawful or private content.

10. Complaints

Contact the host through the booking chat first where appropriate. You can also report a booking problem or email info@rentscanner.com.
